The sun rose on Eid morning. Zahra woke up with a big smile. She smelled sweet cookies baking downstairs.
“Eid Mubarak!” Zahra called out happily.
She ran to the kitchen. Mom was busy making Eid cookies. Colorful lights twinkled around the room. Zahra heard the happy voices of neighbors outside.
“Can I help?” Zahra asked eagerly.
Mom nodded. “Of course, sweetheart.”
Zahra put on her apron. She helped Mom shape the dough. The kitchen filled with the warm scent of cinnamon and vanilla.
Zahra felt excited. Eid was going to be wonderful this year!
Zahra looked out the window. She saw Mrs. Hassan, their neighbor, sitting alone.
“Mom, why is Mrs. Hassan by herself?” Zahra asked.
Mom sighed softly. “Her family lives far away, dear.”
Zahra felt sad. She watched Mrs. Hassan’s lonely face.
Suddenly, Zahra had a bright idea!
“Can we share our cookies with her?” she asked.
Mom smiled warmly. “That’s very kind of you, Zahra.”
Zahra bounced with excitement. She loved making people happy.
“Let’s make a special plate for Mrs. Hassan!” Zahra said.
Mom nodded, her eyes twinkling with pride.
Zahra and Mom picked the best cookies. They put them on a pretty plate.
“Let’s go!” Zahra said, holding the plate carefully.
They walked to Mrs. Hassan’s house. Zahra’s heart beat fast.
Knock, knock!
Mrs. Hassan opened the door. Her eyes went wide.
“Eid Mubarak, Mrs. Hassan!” Zahra said brightly.
“We brought you some cookies,” Mom added.
Mrs. Hassan’s face lit up like a shining star.
“Oh, how wonderful!” she exclaimed. “Please, come in!”
They sat in Mrs. Hassan’s cozy living room. They shared cookies and stories.
Mrs. Hassan’s eyes sparkled with joy. She hugged Zahra tightly.
“You’ve made my Eid so special,” she said.
Zahra felt warm inside. Her small act had brought such big happiness.
Mrs. Hassan told her friends about Zahra’s kind act.
Soon, the whole street buzzed with activity.
Neighbors shared treats and warm greetings.
Laughter filled the air. Children played together.
Zahra watched from her window, amazed.
Her small idea had spread like ripples in a pond.
The street looked bright and festive.
Zahra’s heart swelled with pride and joy.
She had helped bring the community together.
Mom hugged Zahra. “You’ve made Eid special for everyone,” she said.
Zahra beamed. She felt happy and important.
On Eid evening, Zahra’s family and Mrs. Hassan celebrated together.
They shared a delicious meal and more cookies.
“Thank you for your kindness,” Mrs. Hassan said.
Zahra smiled brightly. She learned that small acts can make a big difference.
It was the best Eid ever!
