In a cozy burrow lived Flopsy, a young rabbit. Her favorite toy was a soft, orange carrot plushy. Flopsy loved her carrot more than anything.
Every day, she hopped around her playroom. It was full of fun toys. But the carrot was always in her paws.
“You’re my best friend,” Flopsy whispered to her carrot. She hugged it tight and smiled.
The playroom had many toys. Blocks, balls, and books were everywhere. But Flopsy only wanted her carrot.
One sunny morning, Mama Rabbit called all the young animals. She held up a bright poster.
“Listen up, little ones!” Mama Rabbit said. “We’re having a Toy Swap Party tomorrow!”
The animals cheered. Squirrels clapped. Birds chirped with joy.
“Bring your toys to share,” Mama Rabbit explained. “You’ll get to play with new ones!”
Flopsy’s ears drooped. She clutched her carrot tighter.
“Share my carrot?” she thought. “But it’s mine!”
Flopsy hopped to her room. She hid her carrot under a pillow.
“I won’t share you,” she whispered. “You’re my toy.”
Her friend Nutkin, a squirrel, came to visit.
“Are you excited for the swap?” Nutkin asked.
Flopsy shook her head. “I don’t want to share my carrot.”
Nutkin looked sad. “But sharing is fun! We can play together.”
Flopsy turned away. She didn’t want to listen.
Later, Mama Rabbit found Flopsy alone.
“Why are you sad, dear?” Mama asked.
“I don’t want to share my carrot,” Flopsy said.
Mama hugged her. “Sharing can be hard. But it can also bring joy.”
Flopsy wasn’t sure. She still felt scared to share.
The next day, the Toy Swap Party began. Colorful banners hung everywhere.
Animals brought their toys. They laughed and played together.
Flopsy watched from the doorway. Her paws held her carrot tight.
She saw Nutkin share his acorn rattle. A hedgehog gave him a shiny ball.
Both looked so happy. They played and giggled.
Other animals swapped toys too. A bird got a jump rope. A mouse tried a toy car.
Everyone seemed to be having fun.
Flopsy felt curious. Maybe sharing wasn’t so bad?
She took a small hop forward. The party looked exciting.
Flopsy took a deep breath. She hopped into the party.
“Can I… can I join?” she asked softly.
Mama Rabbit smiled. “Of course, dear!”
Flopsy looked at her carrot. Then at a young hedgehog.
“Would you like to play with my carrot?” Flopsy asked.
The hedgehog’s eyes lit up. “Really? Thank you!”
Flopsy handed over her toy. It felt strange but nice.
The hedgehog gave Flopsy a colorful xylophone.
Flopsy tapped the keys. Beautiful sounds filled the air.
She giggled. This was fun!
Flopsy made new friends. She tried many toys.
Sharing wasn’t scary. It was wonderful!
As the party ended, Flopsy felt happy and proud.
She had shared her special toy. And she’d made new friends!
“Mama,” Flopsy said, “sharing is really nice!”
Mama Rabbit hugged her. “I’m so proud of you, Flopsy.”
Flopsy looked at her carrot and her new xylophone.
“I love my carrot,” she said. “But playing with friends is even better!”
The animals planned more playdates. Floppy couldn’t wait!
She learned that sharing brings joy and friendship.
From that day on, Flopsy always shared her toys with a smile.
