It was a perfect day at the Cloud Valley Festival.
Colorful balloons floated high in the blue sky. They looked like giant rainbow dots against the clouds.
Whoosh! The warm air made each balloon grow bigger and bigger.
Sky Scout Zephyr stood at her post. She held her silver binoculars up high. Her blue uniform sparkled with many badges.
She was the youngest rescue scout in the valley. And she was very good at her job!
Suddenly, Zephyr saw something strange. A big red balloon was moving the wrong way!
“Oh no!” she gasped. The rope was loose. The balloon was floating away!
Zephyr looked closer through her binoculars. Her heart beat faster.
“Base Team, this is Zephyr!” she called into her headset. “We have a runaway balloon!”
She took another quick look. “And there are two kids inside!”

Zephyr used her special telescope to see the basket better.
Two young balloon pilots, Storm and Breeze, waved for help. They were brother and sister.
“We can’t control it!” Storm called down. His voice shook with fear.
“The wind is too strong!” Breeze pointed at the broken rope.
Zephyr watched as the balloon drifted higher and higher. Dark clouds were coming.
“Team Alpha, come in!” Zephyr pressed her headset button. “We need the rescue squad!”
Soon, other scouts joined her. They brought maps and weather tools.
“We can’t use the rescue helicopter,” said Captain Swift. “The wind is too dangerous.”
“And we can’t shoot a rope line,” added Scout Echo. “The balloon is too high.”
Zephyr looked at all her team members. They needed a new plan.
Whoosh! The wind grew stronger. Time was running out!
“I have an idea!” Zephyr said. “But we’ll need everyone’s help!”

“Here’s my plan,” Zephyr said to her rescue team.
“We’ll use all our balloons to guide the runaway one down!”
Captain Swift nodded. “Like a flying circle around them!”
The team jumped into action. Each person knew their job.
Ground Team set up safety nets below. Swish-swish!
Radio Team kept talking to Storm and Breeze. “Stay calm, help is coming!”
Six rescue balloons rose into the sky. Zephyr led them up.
“Form a circle!” she called through her headset.
The balloons moved like dancers in the sky. They made a ring.
Slowly, they flew closer to Storm and Breeze’s balloon.
“Now, everyone, gentle air streams!” Zephyr commanded.
Each balloon released warm air in just the right way.
Whoosh! Whoosh! The air made a funnel shape.
The runaway balloon started floating down, down, down!
“It’s working!” shouted Scout Echo. “Keep going!”

The runaway balloon landed soft and safe on the ground.
Storm and Breeze jumped out and hugged their parents.
“Thank you, Sky Scout Zephyr!” they both cheered.
The whole crowd clapped and cheered for the rescue team.
“How did you think of that plan?” Captain Swift asked Zephyr.
“I remembered how we all work better together,” she smiled.
The Mayor gave each team member a shiny medal.
“This shows what we can do when we all help each other,” she said.
Now at every Cloud Valley Festival, people tell this story.
It reminds everyone that teamwork makes amazing things possible!
