Hop the Bunny lived in a green meadow. He loved to jump and play.

Far away, Waddle the Penguin lived on icy shores. He liked to slide and swim.

Hop and Waddle had never met before. They were very different.

One day, they both went to a new pond.

Hop hopped to the pond. Waddle waddled there too.

They saw each other and stopped. Hop’s nose twitched. Waddle’s flippers shook.

“H-hello,” said Hop softly. His ears drooped.

“Hi,” Waddle whispered. He looked at his feet.

They both felt shy and unsure. What should they do?

Hop looked at Waddle’s feathers. Waddle stared at Hop’s fur.

“You’re fluffy!” Waddle said. His eyes got big.

Hop giggled. “You’re smooth!” He touched his own fur.

Waddle took a step. He waddled. Hop bounced a bit.

They both started to laugh. It was funny!

“Can you hop?” Hop asked. Waddle tried and fell. Splash!

Hop helped Waddle out of the pond. “Let’s try again!”

Waddle hopped. Boing! He did it! “Your turn to slide!”

Hop lay on his tummy. Waddle gave him a push. Whoosh!

They played all day. Hopping, sliding, and splashing.

“This is fun!” Hop cheered. Waddle nodded, “So much fun!”

They laughed and played. Time flew by fast.

The sun started to set. It was time to go home.

Hop and Waddle looked at each other. They felt happy.

“You’re my new friend,” Hop said with a big smile.

Waddle clapped his flippers. “You’re my friend too!”

They hugged goodbye. “Let’s play again soon,” they both said.

Hop hopped home. Waddle waddled away. Both were excited for next time.

Let’s talk about the story, my little adventurer!
