In a lush meadow, a young firefly named Flicker lived. His wings buzzed with joy. The summer night was warm and starry. Flicker loved to explore the dark sky. He wanted to learn how to count all the twinkling lights. Tonight was special. Flicker was ready for a big adventure!

A small firefly talking to a large, wise-looking owl on a tree branch. The background shows a dark meadow dotted with glowing firefly lights.

Flicker zoomed through the air. He met Wise Owl perched on a branch.

“Hello, little one,” Owl hooted softly.

“Hi, Owl!” Flicker chirped. “I want to learn counting.”

Owl’s eyes twinkled. “Counting is important in nature.”

“Really?” Flicker asked, curious.

“Yes,” Owl nodded. “Can you count the fireflies?”

Flicker’s eyes grew wide. “I’ll try!”

He zipped off, excited to start. The meadow glowed with tiny lights. Flicker felt brave and ready. His big counting adventure had begun!

Flicker flew through the meadow. He saw a group of fireflies.

One,” he counted aloud. His tail glowed brightly.

Near a daisy, two fireflies danced. “One, two,” Flicker said.

He spotted three more by a leaf. “One, two, three!”

Flicker felt proud. He kept going.

Four fireflies hovered over a pond. “One, two, three, four.”

Five twinkled near a rock. “One, two, three, four, five!”

Each group sparkled like stars. Flicker’s excitement grew.

He repeated the numbers. “One, two, three, four, five.”

The meadow lit up with each count. Flicker’s heart raced.

He was learning fast. Counting was fun!

Suddenly, Flicker saw a big group of fireflies. There were more than five!

He felt nervous. “Can I count them all?”

Flicker took a deep breath. He started slowly.

“One, two, three, four, five…” He paused.

Wise Owl appeared. “You can do it, Flicker!”

“But there are so many,” Flicker said.

Owl smiled. “Try grouping them.”

Flicker looked again. He saw two groups of three.

Six!” he exclaimed. “There are six fireflies!”

Owl hooted happily. “Well done!”

Flicker beamed with pride. He was getting better at counting!

Flicker flew high. He could see all the fireflies now.

“I’ll count them all!” he said bravely.

One by one, Flicker counted every firefly.

“…Eight, nine, ten!” he finished with a big smile.

Owl clapped his wings. “Wonderful, Flicker!”

Flicker felt so proud. He had learned to count to ten!

He zoomed to his firefly friends. “Let’s count together!”

They all lit up the night sky. Counting was their new game.

Flicker knew he could learn anything if he tried.

The meadow twinkled with joy under the starry night.
