Welcome to the magical town of Ticksworth!

The town had something very special in its center. A giant clock tower reached up to the clouds! It went tick-tock all day long. Shiny brass gears turned inside its glass walls.

In a small purple house lived a young inventor named Sage. Sage loved to make new things. Their workshop was full of fun gadgets. Tools clinked and clanked as they worked.

“Look at all my inventions!” Sage would say with pride.

One sunny morning, something strange happened. The big clock tower started acting weird.

“Oh my!” shouted Mr. Green from the bakery. “The clock is going backward!”

“That’s impossible!” said Mrs. Blue from the flower shop.

But it was true! The hands of the clock were spinning the wrong way.

Sage rushed outside to look. Their eyes grew wide with wonder. “This is a mystery!” they said. “And I’m going to solve it!”

Little did Sage know, this would be their biggest adventure yet!

Strange things began to happen in Ticksworth.

Time wasn’t just going backward on the clock. It was going backward everywhere!

“Help!” cried little Tommy. His ice cream cone was getting bigger instead of smaller.

Mrs. Green’s garden was very odd today. The flowers were turning back into buds. The leaves were flying up to the trees.

“My goodness!” squeaked old Mr. Brown. “I feel younger by the minute!”

He was right! Gray hair was turning brown. Wrinkles were disappearing. Adults were shrinking.

Sage pulled out their special notebook. They wrote down everything they saw:

“This is getting serious,” Sage said to themselves. “I must find out why!”

They grabbed their inventor’s toolkit and headed toward the clock tower. The brass gears inside made strange noises. Clank! Whirr! Zing!

Time was running out – or maybe running backward! Sage had to solve this puzzle fast.

Sage climbed the winding stairs of the clock tower.

“Wow!” they gasped. The inside was amazing!

Huge gears filled the tower. They sparkled with magical light. Some were gold, others silver. But one gear was different.

“Look at that!” Sage pointed at a purple gear. It spun the wrong way.

Sage took notes in their book:

They tried different things to fix it:

“Think, Sage, think!” they said, tapping their head.

Then they saw something interesting. A tiny key was stuck in the purple gear!

“That’s not supposed to be there!” Sage exclaimed.

But reaching the key wasn’t easy. It was up high. The gears kept moving.

Sage had an idea! They pulled out their newest invention – the Grabby-Stretchy Hand!

“This is perfect!” they smiled. “Now I can reach the key!”

The Grabby-Stretchy Hand worked perfectly! Sage caught the key.

Pop! The purple gear stopped spinning.
Whoosh! All the gears turned gold again.
Ding! The clock started moving forward!

Outside, amazing things happened:

The whole town cheered! “Hooray for Sage!”

The Mayor gave Sage a special badge. It said “Official Clock Tower Guardian”.

“How did you fix it?” everyone asked.

Sage smiled. “I used my brain and my tools. Sometimes the biggest problems have simple solutions!”

From that day on, the clock tower never ran backward again. And Sage? They kept inventing amazing things.

“Remember,” Sage told the children, “there’s no problem too big to solve!”

The End
