One evening, Ella decided she wanted to explore her backyard. It was a cool, quiet night, and the air smelled fresh. She grabbed her cozy blanket and her bright flashlight. She felt a little nervous, but mostly excited.
As she stepped outside, she could hear the chirping crickets and feel the soft breeze on her face. The moon was shining in the sky, but something else caught her eye—a tiny light flickering in the dark!
“Who’s there?” Ella asked.
A firefly floated down in front of her. “It’s just me!” the firefly said with a cheerful buzz. “I’m Finn the firefly. What are you doing out here?”

“I wanted to see the stars,” Ella replied, her eyes wide with wonder.
“Well,” said Finn, “I can help you with that! Let’s count the stars together.”
Ella and Finn the firefly looked up at the sky. It was full of twinkling stars.
“Let’s count the stars!” Finn said, glowing brighter. “See that little group there? That’s a constellation. It has three stars.”
Ella pointed her finger. “One, two, three!” she said, counting out loud. “It looks like a triangle!”

Finn buzzed around happily. “You’re right! Let’s find another one. Look over there—those stars make a square.”
Ella giggled. “One, two, three, four stars!” she counted, her face lighting up with joy.
The stars seemed to shine brighter as Ella and Finn counted them. Finn’s light danced around the sky, making the stars even easier to see.
“Counting stars is so much fun,” Ella said, smiling.
Ella looked up again, and this time, she noticed something different. The stars weren’t just random—they made shapes!
“Look, Finn! That group of stars looks like a kite,” Ella said, tracing the shape with her finger. “How many stars make the kite?”
Finn flew around, looking closely. “Let’s count them! One, two, three, four, five!”
Ella smiled. “Five stars make a kite!”
Finn’s light flickered with excitement. “Do you see that one over there? It looks like a bear!”
Ella squinted at the sky. “Yes! It does look like a bear. How many stars are there?”
Together, they counted, “One, two, three, four, five, six, seven!”
“Seven stars make a bear!” Finn buzzed with joy. “You’re really good at spotting patterns, Ella.”

Ella felt proud and looked for more shapes, excited to find the next constellation.
As Ella and Finn continued their adventure, something magical happened. A group of stars in the sky began to twinkle in a special pattern.
“Finn, look! It’s like the stars are trying to tell us something,” Ella whispered, eyes wide with wonder.
Finn buzzed closer to the stars. “It’s a star puzzle!” he exclaimed. “We have to count the stars in the right order to reveal a secret constellation.”
Ella grinned. “Let’s do it!”
They began to count carefully. “One, two, three… Oh! What happens if we add one more?” Ella asked.
“If we count one more star, what shape will it make?” Finn asked, flickering with excitement.
Ella thought for a moment. “One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight!” she said proudly. “It makes a star shape!”
As soon as she finished counting, the stars aligned perfectly, and a beautiful constellation in the shape of a star appeared in the sky.
“We did it!” Ella cheered.
With the star puzzle solved, Ella and Finn took a moment to enjoy the calm of the night. The sky seemed even more beautiful now, with the stars twinkling softly above them.
Ella lay down on her blanket, looking up at the stars. “The sky is so big,” she whispered, feeling a sense of wonder.
Finn landed gently next to her. “You did an amazing job counting tonight, Ella. You’re a real star-counter now!”
Ella smiled. “Thanks, Finn. I learned so much about the stars and the constellations. It’s like the night sky is a big puzzle waiting to be solved.”

Together, they gazed up at the stars, feeling happy and proud of their adventure. The night breeze was cool, and the stars seemed to wink back at them.
As Ella began to feel sleepy, she whispered, “Good night, Finn. Let’s count more stars tomorrow.”
“Good night, Ella,” Finn buzzed softly. “There are always more stars to count.”
