In a cozy house lived a cat named Whiskers. His fur was soft and white.
Whiskers spent his days alone. He ate from his bowl. He napped in sunny spots. He played with yarn.
But Whiskers felt lonely. He wished for a friend.
One sunny day, Whiskers saw something new. A big, brown dog was outside!
The dog had a wagging tail. It looked happy and friendly.
Whiskers felt curious but scared. He watched from the window.
“Meow?” said Whiskers softly.
The dog’s ears perked up. It trotted to the house.
“Woof!” barked the dog. Its tail wagged faster.
Whiskers’ whiskers twitched. Should he say hello?
The dog sat by the window. It looked up at Whiskers with big, kind eyes.
Whiskers felt a little braver. Maybe this dog was nice?
Whiskers took a deep breath. He crept to the door.
The cat flap went swish. Whiskers poked his head out.
The dog’s tail went thump-thump. It smiled big.
“Meow?” said Whiskers. He sniffed the air.
“Woof!” said the dog. It sniffed back.
Their noses touched. Boop!
Whiskers giggled. The dog’s nose was cold!
The dog rolled over. Its belly looked soft.
Whiskers patted the dog’s tummy. Pat-pat.
The dog licked Whiskers’ paw. Slurp!
Whiskers laughed. This dog was fun!
“Want to play?” Whiskers seemed to ask.
The dog jumped up, ready for fun.
Whiskers and the dog became best friends. They played all day.
They shared Whiskers’ toys. The dog liked the bouncy ball.
Whiskers enjoyed the dog’s chewy bone. It was fun to bat around.
At lunchtime, they ate together. Munch-munch.
The dog shared its treats. Whiskers shared his fish.
When they got tired, they napped. The dog made a comfy pillow.
Whiskers purred. The dog snored softly.
If Whiskers felt scared, the dog gave him a gentle nuzzle.
When the dog was sad, Whiskers rubbed against its leg.
They were always there for each other. That’s what friends do!
Whiskers wasn’t lonely anymore. He had a new best friend!
Every day, they played and laughed together.
Whiskers and the dog were happy. They loved being friends.
Now, Whiskers couldn’t wait for tomorrow. Fun with his friend was the best!
